The Key of Solomon is a grimoire dating back to the 14th or 15th century. An 1863 copy was owned by Jurgen Leitner, who describes it as one of the few books to contain elements of several powers. Jonathan Sims describes it as "an almanac on demonology".[1]

The Key of Solomon was one of the books contained in the library of Jurgen Leitner prior to its destruction in 1994. Dominic Swain discovered an eBay listing for the book from 2007 while researching Leitner. The book was listed as having been previously owned by MacGregor Matthews and Jurgen Leitner. The auction was won for just over £1200 by grbookworm1818, who was later revealed to be Gertrude Robinson.[2][1]
Sometime during or after 2011, Gertrude and Leitner experimented with the book in the tunnels underneath The Magnus Institute, hoping that the tunnels would provide the stability required to examine it properly. Their experiment went wrong and they ultimately had to destroy the book by burning it.[3]
Jonathan Sims finds the remains of the book while exploring the tunnels in January, 2017.[4]
